Every vibrator sold in India is described as whisper-quiet. Ours included. It's a claim with no number behind it, and in a country where a lot of adults share walls with parents, siblings or flatmates, that's the specification people most need and least often get.
So this guide does two things nobody else does. It publishes the decibel figures we actually have, admits where we don't have them, and then explains the thing that matters more than the number anyway — because the sound that gives you away usually isn't travelling through the air.
The short answer
The quietest product we make has no motor at all: Adam is a manual stroker, so it is silent by construction. Of the powered products, the O-Ring and Delay Ring are the only ones with a published figure, both rated ≤50 dB — roughly a quiet refrigerator. For the vibrators, no Indian brand publishes decibels, so test any device on its lowest steady mode from outside a closed door. What the numbers actually mean
Decibel figures are useless without a reference, so here is one.

Two things worth knowing about the scale. It's logarithmic, so 60 dB isn't twenty percent louder than 50 dB — a 10 dB rise is roughly a doubling of perceived loudness. And a rating on a box is measured in a lab, usually at a set distance with the device running free in air. Pressed against a body it behaves differently, and pressed against furniture it behaves very differently indeed.

That's an uncomfortable table for a shop to publish and it's the honest one. If a brand gives you "whisper-quiet" with no figure, treat it as marketing — ours included, until we measure it properly.
The part that matters more than decibels
Here's the thing almost nobody explains, and it changes what you should actually do.
Sound reaches the next room two ways. Airborne — through the air, through the gap under the door. And structure-borne — the device's vibration couples into whatever it's touching, and that object becomes a speaker. A wooden bedframe, a hollow-core door, a plywood headboard and a thin floor are all extremely good at this.
Structure-borne is usually the one that gives people away, and it's the one no decibel rating captures, because the rating is measured in free air. A device that measures 45 dB on a lab bench can be far more noticeable resting on a bedframe than a 55 dB device sitting on a duvet.
There's a second wrinkle. Low frequencies pass through walls and floors more easily than high ones. So a deep rumbly motor may be less irritating in the room and travel further through the building; a high buzzy motor is more piercing up close but fades faster through a wall. Neither is universally better — it depends on whether your problem is someone in the room or someone downstairs.
Six things that actually reduce noise
- Keep it off hard furniture. Duvet, folded towel, cushion. This is the highest-return change on the list and it's free.
- Use a lower setting. Motor noise generally rises with speed, and the top mode is often the loudest thing a device does. Most people don't need it.
- Use steady modes over patterns. A pattern that ramps and drops draws attention precisely because it changes; a constant tone blends into background noise.
- Add masking noise. A ceiling fan, an AC, or music at low volume. A fan is roughly the same level as a quiet device and covers it completely.
- Put something at the base of the door. A rolled towel across the gap. Most airborne sound between rooms in an Indian flat goes under the door, not through it.
- Choose no motor. Obvious once said. A manual product has no acoustic signature at all, and no charging cable to be found either.
The thirty-second test
Do this with any new device, before you rely on it:
Put it on your bed, on the duvet, running on the lowest steady mode. Close the bedroom door. Stand outside it and listen. Then repeat on the highest mode, and repeat again with the device resting on the bedframe rather than the bedding. You'll learn three things in half a minute: whether it's audible at all, how much the top mode costs you, and how much difference the surface makes. That last one is usually the biggest, and it surprises people.

If silence is non-negotiable, Adam is the only genuinely certain answer here, because there's nothing in it to make a sound. If you want vibration and quiet, Noah is small-motored and silicone-bodied, and the surface it rests on will matter more than the model you chose. Storage and charging, since they make noise too
Two overlooked ones. A device stored loose in a drawer can switch on when the drawer is opened — most have a button lock or a travel mode, and it's worth learning it. And a magnetic charging cable rattling against a hard surface is its own small noise; charge it on a cloth.
Keep it dry as well as quiet: IPX6 means rinse-safe, not submersible, and a device stored damp fails faster than one that's used often.
